Most people don’t
spare a thought as to what they’ll be putting their lunch in, there are others
who clearly do. JIL SANDER has produced, what is very possibly, the world's
most expensive paper bag. The Vasari design is crafted from coated paper and
available to buy online for £185.
At first glance, it
looks just like any other paper bag. It is plain brown, rectangular and
possesses no handles so you are still required to clutch the item from the top.
However there are a few notable exceptions which make this bag distinct from
the rest. Coated paper with high-durability ensures that the bag lasts much
longer than the normal Starbucks equivalent and there is stitching on either
side to make it even more secure. Four gold-coloured metal eyelets are also a
thoughtful addition as they let air into the bag when you are on the move.
Friends, meet the
Vasari bag, “crafted” out of “100% coated paper”. Off Raf Simons’s last
menswear collection for Jil Sander − the Autumn/Winter 2012 one − the
bag, featuring visible stitched seams at each side with two metal eyelets at
the bottom and the Jil Sander logo at the centre of the interior base panel,
has become all the rage since it hit stores three weeks back.
