Hunk IAN SOMERHALDER: New Face of PENSHOPPE.

Ian Somerhalder, the newest face international endorser of local clothing brand Penshoppe after Ed Westwick, Mario Maurer and Zac Efron. Ian Somerhalder as Penshoppe endorser was launched on Wednesday afternoon at the Peninsula Manila Hotel in Makati City.

A piece of good news was relayed on one of my relaible resources, Joyce A. Ramirez in an official statement:

We are pleased to confirm that actor Ian Somerhalder has accepted our offer and is now (officially) part of PENSHOPPE “All Stars.”

“Ian is now en route to Manila, Philippines joining the all star cast of Team PENSHOPPE.”

“PENSHOPPE is very excited to work with Ian and our team is doing everything to make this a truly memorable visit for him. He will be staying in the Philippines for a week to shoot his campaign at an environmental-friendly resort as well as participate in a press conference to be held in Manila.”

“Hopefully, Ian gets a chance to meet his adoring Filipino fans who have supported him in The Vampire Diaries for the last two top rating seasons. Fans can also look forward to as Ian visits a flagship PENSHOPPE store.”

The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder, arrived in El Nido, Palawan on Sunday noon, May 20. He had arrived in Manila on Saturday, May 19. 

In his tweet t on Monday morning (May 21), Somerhalder wrote: "Reporting live from some beautiful island in the Philippines where it's, on my time schedule, impossible to sleep past 5AM :( SO beautiful here."

The popular TV star now joins a stellar list of leading men for PENSHOPPE including Ed Westwick (who plays Chuck Bass in the popular series Gossip Girl), Thai superstar Mario Maurer (now in the Philippines shooting his first Filipino film under Star Cinema called ‘Suddenly Its Magic’) and A-list Hollywood movie star Zac Efron (star of High School Musical series, whose recent film ‘The Lucky One’ registered box office returns of more than U$76 Million worldwide).

For this special assignment, PENSHOPPE has once again secured the expertise of Hollywood A-List photographer, Darren Tieste, author of ‘The Beauty Book’ featuring some of the world’s biggest stars led by actress Scarlett Johansson on the cover to shoot the actor’s 2012/13 campaign for the leading local apparel brand.

Ian currently stars in the CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” opposite Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev. The show is returning for its third season in mid-September 2012. Based on the books by L.J. Smith the show centers around Elena Gilber, a high school girl torn between two vampire brothers. He plays Damon Salvatore, the elder and far more dangerous of the two brothers who share a long and bitter history.

BROTHEL CREEPERS: Trending Shoe!

Like them or ignore them, BROTHEL CREEPERS are the most talked about shoe of the season. I can’t say I truly love these, the beauty of the sole escapes me completely but then of course now that I’ve said that, there is a chance I might be wearing these in the near future. In the late 1950s, these shoes were taken up by the Teddy Boys, Brothel Creepers are a type of shoe most associated with Rock 'n' Roll music. 

They were invented in 1949 by George Cox six years before Rock 'n' Roll became popular. But since then they have been adopted by the Rock 'n' Roll / Rockabilly market as their trademark shoe.

The most famous of the Brothel Creeper shoes are of course the blue suede ones made famous by Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley.What are creepers, you ask? Creepers, or “brothel creepers”, are a chunky shoe style worn by punk, psychobilly, and Japanese visual kei subcultures. 

They are characterized by their thick soles, which are at least an inch high, and some styles have soles so thick that they qualify as platforms. They are typically laced near the ankle, like boat shoes, though some designs come with buckles instead of laces Creepers became much more mainstream from 2011 with popular artists such as R&B Singer Rita Ora and Rihanna.  

JOE JONAS: New Endorser of BENCH

Yes. You heard it right! After American Idol finalist David Archuleta, Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale and The Vampire Diaries actor Michael Trevino, Joe Jonas is the next Big bang Endorser of Bench.

The hashtag #JoeJonas4Bench became one of the trending local news on social networking site like twitter. Bench tweeted on Friday, “Joe Jonas, welcome to the Bench family! See you soon!”

Joe Jonas is an American pop singer, musician, actor, and dancer. He is a member of the Jonas Brothers, He starred as Joseph Lucas on the Disney Channel original series Jonas, and released his debut solo studio album, Fastlife in October 2011.

Another big revelation, America’s Next Top Model contestants Allison Harvard and Dominique Reighard will flaunt their modeling prowess and walk the walk to the upcoming Bench Fashion Show on Philippine Fashion Week together with Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer, Michael Cinco.

Allison Harvard was a contestant and runner-up during Cycle 12 of ANTM The American artist and fashion model from Houston, Texas, resided in New Orleans, Louisiana during her appearance on America’s Next Top Model. She is a painter and photographer, who describe her style of art as “surreal” and “psychedelic.” 

Dominique Reighard was a contestant during Cycle 10 of ANTM, a 23-year-old receptionist from Columbus, Ohio. Dominique was mostly known for her drag queen/tranvestite facial qualities, the botched makeover she received, and her knock-down, drag-out fight with Claire and Whitney over her alarm clock. Dominique’s performance on the show began somewhat weak, but began to improve greatly after she was almost eliminated in episode two. In the end, Dominique came in fourth behind winner, Whitney Thompson.

Michael Cinco , a fine arts scholar of the University of the Philippines, is moving into the international limelight. was featured twice on the popular America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) last year—as guest designer in Cycle 16 early in the year, and as finale designer in the last quarter’s Cycle 17 ANTM All-Stars.
